General instructions how to setup your own domain

With Short.io you can shorten links on your own domain. You have the options to connect a newly created domain or a domain on which you already host your website. Before adding your domain to Short.io, you need to follow some activation steps in order to connect the domain with Short.io and then use it for link shortening.

In case of an existing domain currently in use, please read carefully this article.

We have compiled a brief list of articles with various domain registrars to assist you in setting up your domain.

And if your registrar is not on the list, consider the following

General instructions

1. Sign in to your domain registrar's page.

2. Select the domain you want to connect with Short.io.

3. Open the DNS settings.

4. Delete all the unnecessary or default settings.

5. Create one A-record with the following details:

   Host: @

   Type: A

   Data: 207.174.61.1

6. Save your changes.
