Common issues when configuring a domain
Domain configuration can be more complex than it initially appears, and even small overlooked settings may prevent successful activation. We understand the process can be challenging, so we will walk through some common mistakes that can affect domain setup and activation.

There are several possible reasons:

-

Key steps in domain configuration
Here is a checklist to help you quickly identify any issues. Since domain and subdomain configurations differ slightly, the steps are outlined separately for each.
Domain configuration
Please, verify that the following steps are completed:
-
Register a domain with a registrar.git
-
Delete the extra A, AAAA, CNAME records.
-
Create an A record with the following details:
-
Host: @
-
Type: A
-
Data: 207.174.61.1
-
-
Verify that domain forwarding is disabled (for example, in Namecheap or GoDaddy).
Some domain registrars do not allow specifying @ host. If this is the case with your registrar, leave the field blank.
Subdomain configuration
Please, verify that the following steps are completed:
-
Sign in to your domain registrar and open the DNS settings of your domain.
-
Add the Short.io details:
-
A-record – the name of your subdomain
-
Value - 207.174.61.1
-
-
Verify that domain forwarding is disabled (for example, in Namecheap or GoDaddy).
Activation time: How long does it take to activate a domain?
Domain activation may complete within a few seconds, but in some cases it can take up to 24 hours.
