How to connect my Spaceship domain with Short.io

If you have acquired a domain from Spaceship, you should follow some activation steps in order to connect the domain with Short.io and use it for link shortening.

Important note

If you use it as the main domain for your website - please configure a subdomain instead.

Spaceship configurations

1. Sign in to your Spaceship account.

2. In the Launchpad's search field enter Advanced DNS and click on the result link that appears:

   

3. In the Advanced DNS settings click on the domain that you want to configure:

   

4. In the next screen navigate to the DNS records panel:

   

5. To add a new record of type A, you can do one of the following:

   • click on the button under the Default record group

     

   • or click on Add record and then select A

     

6. Configure the record as follows:

   • Host: @

   • Type: A

   • Value: 207.174.61.1

     

7. Click on Add.

The DNS record is added to your domain settings.

You can check its propagation status by clicking on :

Short.io configurations

---

1. Sign in to your Short.io account.

2. Click on Add domain and then on Add own domain:

   

3. Enter your domain name and click on This is empty short domain (sub-domain) just for links:

   

4. Click on Add domain.

5. Open the Domain settings and check if the domain is in status Active:

Important note

If the domain is Inactive then wait for a few hours and click on Refresh to check if the status has changed.

You will receive an email from the Short.io team informing you that the domain is now configured. Feel free to shorten your links and enjoy Short.io.
