How to automatically connect my 1&1 Ionos domain with Short.io

How to automatically connect your domain​

  1. Sign in to your Short.io account.

  2. Click on Add domain and then on Add own domain:

  3. Enter your domain name and click on This is empty short domain (sub-domain) just for links:

  4. Click on Add domain.

  5. In the next screen, you can click on:

    • Instruction: if you decide to still perform a manual connection

    • Configure: if you want to continue with the automatic presets

  6. When you click on Configure, the following message appears:

  7. Click on Confirm. You are redirected to the Ionos login page.

  8. After logging in, you can review the automatic presets by clicking on Show how we will establish the connection:

  9. Click on Connect. If the connection is successful the following message appears:

    Then you are redirected again to the Short.io dashboard.

Note

Configuring the connection takes some time and you may still see the following message:

Short.io warning banner indicating domain configuration is pending

You can click on the refresh icon until the message disappears.

When the domain becomes active, feel free to shorten links and enjoy Short.io.
