How to connect my Spaceship subdomain with Short.io

It is not necessary to register a new domain name for shortening links if you own one that works properly. Create a subdomain using a domain you already have.

Note

Before using Spaceship for a subdomain, enable the service for your main domain.

When your main domain is active in Spaceship, add a subdomain.

Spaceship configurations

  1. Sign in to your Spaceship account.

  2. In the Launchpad's search field enter Advanced DNS and click on the result link that appears:

Spaceship Launchpad search with Advanced DNS result highlighted

  3. In the Advanced DNS settings click on the domain that you want to configure:

Spaceship Advanced DNS page with domain name highlighted

  4. In the next screen navigate to the DNS records panel and click on Add record -> CNAME:

Spaceship DNS Records with Add record dropdown showing CNAME option

  5. Configure the record as follows:

    • Host: <your-subdomain-name>

    • Type: CNAME

    • Value: cname.short.io

    For example:

  6. Click on Add.

The DNS record is added to your domain settings.

You can check its propagation status by clicking on Propagation status icon:
