# How to buy a domain on Short.io

You can buy a domain via **Short.io** at the exact price at which the domain registrars are selling it.

The advantage of buying a domain via **Short.io** is that no configuration actions are required from your side. The domain will be automatically activated.

Important note

Once the domain is purchased, you will receive an email from the registrar with a request to confirm your contact information. You have **15 days to complete the verification**. **After that period, your domain will be suspended**.

1. Sign in to your [Short.io](https://short.io/) account.

2. Click on **Add domain** from your Dashboard menu:

3. Click on **Buy short domain**.

4. Enter the name of the domain which you want to purchase and click on **Search**:

5. Click on your selection and then on **Register**:

6. In the next screen provide your billing information and click on **Proceed**:

7. In the next dialog click on **Verify** and then enter the received code to confirm your phone number:

8. Proceed by entering your credit card details and complete the payment.

Your credit card will be charged for the new domain, and a receipt will be sent via email.

Important note

After you purchased a domain, wait up to 4 hours for its activation. When your domain is active, feel free to shorten your links and enjoy **Short.io**.
