How to use UTM parameters

A link with UTM parameters is too long. You may shorten an already UTM-coded link, or add UTM parameters to a destination URL straight from Short.io. UTM tags help you to get detailed information about every traffic source. For example, determine which advertising campaign generates the greatest amount of profit. This helps to redistribute the advertising budget correctly.

Adding UTM tags

To add UTM tags to a short link follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Short.io account.

  2. You can either

    • shorten a link and click on Campaign tracking and then Close:

    or

    • open a short link for editing and navigate to Campaign tracking:

  3. In the Campaign tracking panel you can:

You can review the generated long link including the UTM tags.

  1. Click the Save button to confirm.

You can now easily monitor the metrics and performance of your digital marketing campaigns.
